From Toronto, Canada 1999, resides and works in Miami.

Alba Olea is a Canadian of Cuban and Chilean descent, whose practice is in mix-media painting and collage. As a visual artist, she started her career professionally exhibiting in South Florida at eight-teen and eventually achieved her first international shared exhibit in Santander, Spain in 2022. Topics that have inspired her work have been on exposing the controversies of political and social issues. Alba has also been sharing personal narratives on her trauma and struggles with identity. She uses various materials and techniques such as painting, drawing, photography, collage and installations. 

Alba is currently in her senior year in FIU, trying to get her Bachelors in Fine Arts; she is self taught traditional visual artist but has had mentoring from Shelly Mccoy (AP Art Teacher & Practicing Artist), Silvia Medina (Prior Art-Curator at Raw Space Vero-Beach) and Sandra Ramos (Current Art professor & Practicing Artist). 

 

Alba has been exhibiting her work now over six years, among her multiple shared exhibits: 

 

January (2017) Scholastic Art Exhibition – Rubell Family Collection Museum. Awarded a silver key award for the piece, “Victims of Time.” 

 

August (2018) Myths and Legends Exhibit – Studio 18 in Pembroke Pines, Presented two 

pieces in the gallery..

 

April (2019) Quest for Peace Exhibit – Martin & Pat Fine Arts Center. Presented two pieces, honorable mention award for artwork “To Take Action.”
